posted by Graham Honaker

Louisville Metro Government is offering immunization clinics for anyone interested in obtaining the H1N1 vaccine. The clinics will operate four days a week from January 4 through January 22 and will be by appointment only. Both the nasal flu mist and the injection forms of the vaccine will be available.

Clinic locations and times:

Urban Government Center, 810 Barret Avenue
Mondays: Noon - 7 pm
Wednesdays, 9 am - 4 pm

Middletown Fire Station, 108 Urton Lane
Tuesdays: 9 am - 4 pm
Thursdays: noon - 7 pm

Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Station, 4500 Kerrick Lane:
Tuesdays: 9 am - 4 pm
Thursdays: noon - 7 pm

To schedule an appointment, call the local H1N1 hotline at 568-H1N1 (4161) Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 4:30 pm.

Children age nine and younger who have received their first H1N1 immunization will be able to get the booster at these clinics.
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
People can help to alleviate clinic waiting time by downloading Vaccine Information statements and consent forms and by filling the forms out ahead of time and bringing them to the clinic
People are also urged to wear either short sleeved or sleeveless shirts - something that gives nurses quick and easy access to the arm.
Metro Public Health and Wellness is also making H1N1 vaccine for the general public available at all Family Health Center sites. Family Health Center Portland is also operating walk-in H1N1 clinics for those 18 years of age and older on weekdays from 9 am to 4 pm
